We are currently trying to accurately model a pitched roof on a building with 4 non-parallel walls. The roof has modelled but the ridge line is not level. We have tried changing the angles of the various pitches but to no avail. Please see attached screenshots. (Revit 2017)

Think about it!  If the walls are not parallel and you want a flat ridge, either your slopes have to be warped or your eaves have to change.   Model it with some c ardboard, you will see what happens.

Modelling in place would indicate otherwise

You said the walls are not parallel.  Did you miss-speak?   Show us a plan because this does not make sense.

Perhaps you made up the difference with variable eave widths.

No, I did not 'miss-speak', the walls are not parallel (the thread title would indicate...). I have attached the roof plan which accompanies the model-in-place

OK... This is simple geometry.   If the roof ridge is level and the roof eave is level and the same distance from the wall face, then the roof slope distance has to be the same for the entire roof!  The width of your roof changes.  Shorten the hypotenuse (leg C) and both of the other legs have to get shorter!

So what do you want to adjust?

  1. The ridge elevation
  2. The eave elevation
  3. The roof overhang
  4. Warp the roof slope.
