Dear colleagues,

could anyone suggeast me a simple way to change the "Casework" category behaviour in Plan Views?

It it possible to make it respect the plan Cut Plane as Generic Models do?

I want to get casework cut where it is crossed by the Cut Plane.

Please help.

Revit 2017.

 Thank you

From your HELP: "In the Family Element Visibility Settings dialog, there is an option called When cut in Plan/RCP. This option determines if family geometry is shown when the cut plane intersects that family."  In other words, this has to be set for each element in the family - not the project.  Edit the family, pick each element and set according to your needs.

Thank you.

I tried that, exactly as you are saying- by each element. Probably, i did something wrong. I 'll try it again.

Is it the only way?

Something else may  be in the family.   Some families are built with all model elements turned off and a 2D representation created for plan views.  To make that work, the family also typically will use a masking rgion to block out the space in plan.  Look fopr that in your family and remove it if you want the family to be cuttable 3D elements in plan.

Thanks,

For these families I don't use masking region.

I want to get 3D "solid" stuff be cut where it is crossed by rhe project plan Cut Plane.

Actually, it happens there, but only this "ghost" (invisible or not existing) cut plane cuts these famulies in about 1m (3') ABOVE the project plan Cut Plane.

How to find this "Phantom" cut plane and pul it 4' down?

Not suire what you may have here.   Some families are set to show 'precut' and some families react to the elevation of the plan cut in the family.  Maybe you should try moving that.

My "Casework" families actually appear in the project plan view as cut (almost normally, as families of other categories), but the plane which cuts them is about 3 or 4feet higher than the project plan regular cut plane.

I just want to have both these planes at one elevation.
