Ladies & Gentlemen,I am familiar with the standpoint that there should not be a Demolition phase as it is technically unnecessary. However, I like the idea of having an intermediate phase where demolition can occur to keep demolished elements on a separate phase from temporary elements.Managing this additional phase does not seem to be an issue. Can anyone advise how this could end up going wrong for me? Thanks.

It all depends on your requirements.  Revit has two settings, phase of an object and phases shown in a view.  Look at your view phase options: http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2014/ENU/?guid=GUID-DB104358-4D5A-494E-ACAE-BB8B4E72E572

Your demo phase I would assume is between existing and new.  You need to run a test project with a wview walls and doors, then assign the phases and demos and see what happens when you walk through these two switch settings in your view.
