I am creating an Occupancy table and am trying to round up to the next whole occupant.

Area / Load Factor = Occupant Load.  I want to round "Occupant Load" up.

23856 SF / 100 SF = 238.56 Occupants.  I want this to round to 239.

1015 SF / 15 SF = 67.69 Occupants. I want this to round to 68.

1047 SF / 500 SF = 2.09 Occupants. I want this to round to 3.

I have entered "roundup (Area / Load Factor)" But Revit is calculating incorrect results.

23856 SF / 100 SF = Revit is now rounding this to 288... that's 49 people too many.

1015 SF / 15 SF = Revit is rounding this to 68, correct.

1047 SF / 500 SF = Revit is rounding this to 4... thats 1 too many

Why and how is this happening?

When I enter "(Area / Load Factor) + .4999" Revit is also giving me a wrong result.

23856 SF / 100 SF = Revit is now calculating 278.05, which would round to 278, still 39 people too many.

1015 SF / 15 SF = Revit is calculating 68.69, which would round to 69, 1 too many.

1047 SF / 500 SF = Revit is calculating 4.09, which would round to 4, 1 too many.

Thankful for any help on this issue!

Does this rounding error happen if you first calculate the exact number for occupants and then in a second parameter do the rounding? Also under the manage tab in project units you should check your rounding increment for area.

The project Area rounding increment is set to 1.

Yes, the same error occurs if I create a second calculated parameter such as:

roundup (Occupant Load)

or

(Occupant Load) + .4999

I set up an occupancy table on my end with some dummy values and the roundup works for me. I am not sure what the problem is with yours but maybe try deleting the schedule and recreating it. Maybe Revit glitched out on you.
