Hello, I posted a couple months back about making a house using shipping contianers and the problem I was having cutting void shapes through the container walls for windows and doors. It was suggested that I just use "regular" walls so I can drag and drop familes like normal and then add the look of corrugations later using a pattern or surface effect to the exterior of the walls. Now I am trying to figure out how to do this and not having any luck. I have looked into how to make custom 2D patterns for paveing stones and etc., but not 3D for the corrugations.
I have tried taking the side panel families from the 3d container models and placing those on the outside but I still run into the problem of not being able to extrude holes for windows, or having to make custom sized panels to go around the openings, and this is alot of work. I am using Revit 2017.
So if anyone has any ideas to try that would be a great help.
Thanks,
Wes

We do metal buildings with corrugated walls sometimes. These are just walls with a material that has a pattern that will render correctly. You don't want to model the corrugations. These type of sidings are typically represented in small plan views with two lines. Then on details you use a detail element to show the corrugations.
