I found this software through Cadalyst Mag. It looks interesting -well, the potentional to give a detail breakdown of materials and costs of a project. After reading about it, I discovered that it is built off of Arch. Desktop. You either purchase the Vision Rez software (approx. $2500) or the plug in for Arch. Desk. (approx. $1500). I am happy with Revit (although I am still learning). I made the decision to go with Revit about 6 months ago and want to stick with it. OK, MY POINT/QUESTION: Has anyone ever seen or used this product - VISION REZ? I searched the forum, found some comments back in 2004. If anyone is familar with this product AND Revit, can Revit do the same thing - Cost analysis/ROI? Here is a link: http://www.visionrez.com/products.php Comments appreciated, thanks. Boyd j.

To me it looks like Vision Rez is trying to take ADT and make it a "BIM" product for residential. An exercise in futility if you ask me. If you are looking for cost estimating and material take-off from Revit, you can develop schedules or ODBC export the Revit database and develop your own external database that derives quantities from the Revit output. Or if you are looking for a professionally developed software check out: http://www.innovaya.com/ I wrote about this in my BLOG http://blog.reviteer.com/ As an update to the BLOG article, my brother met with the Innovaya developer in Nashville at the Sage developers conference and told me he thinks they really nailed the application down for estimating from Revit.
