Hi Guys,

Please see image below. I've got an intersection of a single pitched roof, with a double pitched roof, and trying to cut away the internal section to form accomodation within the roof space on second floor of my scheme. However, i'm having trouble cutting the internal section away. The dormer cut tool only selects two lines of the valley, whilst if i try to edit the footprint of the single slope, i'm getting an error stating i can't keep element joined, if i proceed to unjoin, the single slope gets deleted.

Any help ASAP would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

B

WWHub,

Thank you for your prompt response. I'm really enjoying REVIT so far, albeit it certainly has a steep learning curve, especially for someone like myself forever reverting back to AC thinking!

I reviewed your suggested thread, albeit i don't think it quite related to my issue (this may partly be my fault for not better explaining my issue), as i wasn't experiencing an issue in completing a roof join. After playing around a little, i did manage to resolve this, as i found a line to complete my dormer cut!

I attach an image showing what i was trying to achieve (the triangular cut within the roof void.

Thank you sincerely, I’m sure I’ll be back with more questions!

B
