Hello -

I have a wall that is 4" limestone, 2" air space, 2 x 6 backup. How do I use split with gap, but only split the 4" stone?

Also is there a way to combine(union) all exterior walls so as to split the whole building at once, instead of having to do this on every wall?

Using Revit 2013. THANKS! for any help.

Your question is not clear.  When you split a wall, you split the entire wall vertcally from a plan view or horizontally from a sectio or elevation view.

You can not split individual layers of a wall.   You can add a vertical void or a wall reveal that will cut out part of a layer or even the whole layer.

Ok, was trying to add 3/8" horizontal and vertical joints in the stone only.

Or maybe there's an easier way to do this?

I've searched around and this seemed like the easiest way, without using voids, reveals, curtain walls, model lines, etc, but I only have limited experience with Revit.

THANKS!
