Im unable to load electircal family elments into my project. When i kick the button to add a plug for example it say nothing is loaded and asks if i want to load. i click yes, navigate to the folder and load for example GFI. when i click ok it pops up a another question asking i want to over ride the existing family.... i thought none where loaded, but ok i'll play.  then nothing. the button is de selected and im back to the start. I however can go in to place compoent and find the GFI plug there, but when i try to place it i get another warning that its not visable in the current view. so i hit V V and check and all electircal items are check visbable... so whats going on here?

Im in revit 15'

First understand the difference between model elements and annotative elements.  Annotative elements can only be placed in 2D views or locked 3D.   Some electrical elements might just be symbols which would require you to be in a plan view with that VG category on.  The fact that the family you loaded was already in the project suggests it is in a different category.   Look in your family browser under all the categories for the GFI family you loaded.
