I create the outside of my building with a generic wall while I am still in the design phase. Once the client has figured out what they wnat on the exterior for finish I change the wall to have the right finish on it. If I have already attatched the wall to a roof componanet and then change the wall to a stacked wall and then try and do anything with the wall revit comes up with a message that says Fatel Error the program will terminate. Does anyone know why? To fix the problem I erase the wall and redraw the wall in and then attatch it to the roof it works just fine.

This shouldn't result in a fatal error, so first ensure you are using the latest build of revit. If you are i recommend filing a support request so this error can be addressed You should simply receive a normal revit error message stating something about stacked walls consisting of multiple walls and all parts of the wall are assuming the same attach command and as such the wall cannot be created. Simply detach the wall first from the roof, then change it to the stacked wall and re-attached it. HTH.
