I am Trying to get accurate floor finish areas. Rentable area plans dont seem to give me an area from the wall faces, they are sort of all over the place. Applying room tags applies boundaries to wall faces ok but hey are not editable so cupboards & robes in rooms become separate rooms. Very messy on paper. The room separation tool works well but I cant improve things by adjusting the room bounding property of the walls. My results are ordinary! Does anyone have a good method to aceive somthing so simple. Thanks in advance. Steve

are you picking walls when defining area boundaries? if so, make sure that "apply area rules" is unticked, pick up the wall face and off you go Smile

For you cupboards etc. Select the wallls and untick "Room Bounding". This way these walls will be ignored in the calculation. Personally i'd prefer to place the actual floor finishes in if i want to get accurate quantities. Then just create a floor schedule of all your finishes...
