How would I put a layer of wood slats below an existing drywall ceiling? Gar

Are you attempting to model them? How big of an area are we talking? A single room or an entire building? Is it for rendering purposes only? Do they need to show in section? Do you need to count them? There are a number of different methods, but helps to know more about the situation. Tom

About 4-500 sf, I would like to make the numbers accurate but if it is going to slow the model down alot then that might not be neccessary. Gar

I would tend to use a compound ceiling with a layer that is as thick as the slats that I place directly below the existing GWB ceiling. Give the ceiling a surface pattern to represent the slats in RCP and if rendering a Accurender material. If you have to show the slats cut in a large scale section, I would use a repeating detail component to represent them. You could also develop a slat family that you bring in and array as required, but that adds overhead and may not buy you that much more that the above method. HTH Tom
