I am trying to create a family of doors that include mullions and have been working on a 9 lite door. Every time I try to use the method of defining mullion patterns that is given in the window family tutorial, I keep getting an error message. It says that the base sketch in invalid. This occurs after I have created the new paramater name "Mullion Offset" and then try to set it to the distance, say 1'-2". I did set up refrence lines on the edges of the window panel in the door. Doing that eliminated the error. However, when I define a distance for the offset, it moves the line I'm trying to refrence the mullions from. Not the mullion itself.

I think that the extrusion that you are using for the mullion needs to be locked to the ref. line.

Would that still be the problem if I'm not creating an extrusion at the time and only creating the center reference lines for the mullions? Sorry if I'm asking a redundant questions but I'm just starting so I want to make sure I'm following correctly. Thanks

Yes, that mullion needs to be locked to the Reference for it to move.
