For the life of me I cannot figure out how to move a wall the direction I want. I get the dimensions move the witness lines and enter the new value but how do you control which wall shifts what direction. There's got to be some information on the logic of how it works. Please help before I go insane. Help! Doug P.S. Why do some walls, when clicked, show dimension and others not? Post edited on 2006-05-06 18:36:05

Select the wall you want to move. The temporary dimensions appear. Type in your value. Simple. Remember that the wall you select will move, not the other. Also make sure you don't have it locked, which is unlikely since you are just starting out and may not have investigated that.

I went home to have a beer but thanks for the quick reply. Usually when I click on a wall the only length dimensions that are displayed are the ones of the walls running perpendicular to it. Do I maybe have a weird setting somewhere? So I constantly try to figure out which perpendicular wall to click on to edit a particular length and then when I change the dimension it allways shifts the wall below.

It's very simple. After you select a wall a dimension that is perpendicular to it appears. In this case the selected is red, temporary dimension is below. Adjust the temp dim and the wall will move left or right depending on the dimension. Somethimes beers will cause an error. More beers, more errors. Post edited on 2006-05-07 03:34:45
