I have a custom pattern that I drew in AutoCad too, any chance that someone can run it through a pattern creator

Here you go.

.Pat file and a .dwg with it inside it.

Thank you very much - I get an error message that the pattern values you have supplied is too large. Try decreasing the line spacing values?

draw it to scale and i'll convert it to a model hatch for you...

you can simply change the import scale factor to .15 and it will work when importing it otherwise...

but... I have no idea how big you want this.  I used the real dimensions you used to convert it.

The original file that I posted was to scale. the pattern that you created looked perfect in CAD but for some reason the .pat file that I plugged in doesn't work.

There are limits for revit and hatch patterns.

you can read up on them here... but you'll have to modify the hatch pattern to make it work for revit.

http://www.hatchkit.com.au/faq.php#Tip7

**Edit

the hatch was in inches right? i assumed it was, if it was not, that might be part of the problem.

yes the hatch was in inches - the pattern works if I scale it down but it is a large scale repeat. The overall size of the octagon is 5' x 5'9" and the connecting rectangles are 6" x 12"

not sure this effects it, but... i'm not sure its draw right... i am not seeing clean dimensions as you listed.

I'll run another pass over it if i have a chance before i leave.  Otherwise i'll look at it monday.
