Hi, this might sound like a stupid question but im struggeling to find a suitable solution. I have a project where all the exterior doors and windows are full height (slab to slab) and Aluminium. They look like curtain walls but are standard doors and windows. the challenge is I cant find a door or window family that meets my needs ie. 2/3/4 panel sliding door with the same number of top lights above (transoms?). Im trying to learn how to model the correct way so do I try create a custom family (which I need to learn how to do) or would creating curtain walls and inserting opening sections be the way to go?

id appreciate any input

Many thanks

Did you look on Autodesk Seek site for your door family?   You may have to place that with seperate window family.

Create a piece of glass which height will be as you mentioned from bottom to top.

Then divide them by curtain grid as you wish.

Add mullion in required places.

now select the glass piece where you want to place door or window , Unpin that glass and change the type to solid in the properties

Now you can able to chage the solid panel into door or window from by loading respective family into project.

Hope it helps you
