I finally switched to Mozilla Firefox and ditched the IE. But when I tried to download from family explorer, I got a screen of gobbledygook. Can someone tell me how I might fix this? Thanks!

I use Firefox. Just right click the link and choose "Save As" or whatever is similar wording. You'll get the download. I have the new IE, the beta, it has many of the featues Firefox boasts but it is not as functional and friendly in my opinion. Cheers - Chris

Thanks for your replies. I switched to Firefox because I am concerned about the security issues with IE. The e-commerce group used by my husband's business recommends Firefox. Here is the warning they sent out to their customers about the latest security breach: ******************************************************************* **** This is only for Microsoft Windows Explorer users **** Hackers have launched a wave of attacks against an unpatched flaw in Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser. This threat is generally referred to as "Sdbot". Sdbot is a virulent family of computer exploits that give hackers complete ownership of infected computers. SDbot allows attackers to control victims' computers remotely by sending specific commands via IRC (Inter Relay Chat) channels. It has been used to seed botnets and plant keystroke loggers for use in identity theft attacks. This is a very serious threat. Microsoft is working on a patch but makes no promise of when the patch will be available except that it will be released before April 11th. My guess is that they are testing what they have now in rought form, and will release it early if the reports of growing numbers of infected machines reaches some critical number. What you can do now: Microsoft suggests that you should turn off "Active Scripts" in Explorer. This is very effective but it will disable all the scripts on all the websites you visit, including Flash. This is not a practical approach in our opinion. Instead, Signal recommends that you stop using MS Explorer NOW! We have been recommending Firefox as a safe and effective alternative to Explorer for all our clients for over a year; with no complaints. Firefox is an excellent browser that is free and readily available for virtually all computers and operating systems. Firefox has many advanced features that Explorer does not have. And best of all Sdbot (and other Explorer based exploits) do not work on computers using Firefox. Again - Sdbot is a serious threat that you need to take into account if you are using Explorer. Now might be an excellent time to try a different browser...just for fun. ********************************************************************
