So I am trying to show the actual colors of my structure in my elevation views by setting them up as realistic view. Everything else comes up fine, but there is this element which is an in-place model (wall type) which has a copper color metal finish. The extrusion has been assigned the copper material and the graphics has been set to use render appearance. The problem is - no matter what I do, it shows up as black color. I tried doing surface pattern for that material as solid fill and assigning the right color too, but it still shows as black. (The color shows up fine when I set the display to consistent colors, but then I loose the colors of my glazing). I am not able to figure this out. See attached pictures for reference. Any help would be appreciated.

Show us the appearance tab for that material.

I can't see your problem from what is posted but I am quite sure it is a process error.   Relook at your in-place wall checking what and how you assigned the material.  (Not sure as to why you would do an in-place rather than just a wall.)

Well, the in-place was done by someone else, before I started working on the project. The problem is the wall that shows up black as posted in the first post. I couldn't figure out the solution, so at last I just went with filled region for the colors that were showing black.
