I'm working on wall sections, putting in detail components, lines, annotations, etc., but when I create a callout for a detail blowup, I lose all my detail work. Is there a setting to include the view specific elements when doing a callout? To workaround, I'll copy and paste in same place, but that's tedious. Another workaround I'm trying is to duplicate the wall section with detailing and the crop it down to the detail blowup and change it from a wall section to a detail type. Then I have to go back to the original wall section, create a callout and reference it to the copied and cropped wall section. Also very tedious.

I have these same problems; i haven't tried it out yet but i think there is a way to attach a detail to a section; thus when you make a callout from it the details should also apprear, but like i said i have't tried it yet.

When you do a callout you will only get the "model" related items. One of Revit's Golden rules is that annotations, dimensions, tags etc are "view specific". This is by design and a veryf useful feature since you can display different types and styles of annotation and tags in the callout view. If you want to get they view specific stuff from the view the callout is referencing, then a simple "window" selection>filter>paste aligned into current view or select view by name. HTH Tom PS if you really need the "detail" in two scale view, then perhaps it is best to add the detail to the family you are using. That can be done by embedding AutoCAD details or by Revit linework. See the AU2005 session on detailing available at the Autodesk Subscription site. Post edited on 2006-04-12 13:03:36

I really would like to be able to do this as well. Is this possible with 2009, especially if i want cut profile / spil face etc to transfer throught to the detail.
