I cut a section through my project. A generic model tht is outside the section view range is showing in the section. Does anyone have an idea why this would happen? The category of the family is 'specialty equipment'. Please help!

hi Clickster,

To confirm, the family that is causing the issue is a 'Generic Model'? Or is it a "Speciality Equipment'? Important difference as i think the issue you are encountering is to doing between what category of family are "cuttable" and "Non-Cuttable".

Basically, if any part of your Speciality Equipment is being cut by the section then it will not cut through it, it will actually show the entire family in the view.

Here is a link to Non-Cuttable Families.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Thanks very much Shatner... yes, the category was specialty equipment. I changed it to another category, and now the section looks fine. Much appreciated.
