Using r2015, is there a way to draw a wall aligned to a grid line with the "core face exterior" option selected and having the "lock" function work to click it and lock the newly drawn wal to the grid line.  I am using "chain" wall option un-checked.    I remember doing this in the past.    It seems to only work now if the CL of wal is the drawing option.  And then it only seems to wrok when the wall is being drawn NOT starting from a grid intersection.

What about locking a dimension from the gridline to the wall line that you want? Does that not work?

Yes, but it is very tedious to zoom in to pick the correct wall face then individually lock every wall to its grid.

why is it you need to lock your wall to your grid? are you planning on moving the grid and want the wall to move with it?

Yes, to allow moving the grid to adjust the design - all walls etc should follow along in alignment.   Or conversely, being certain editing doesn't move the wall from its intended location on the grid.   the idea is to make this easy.  Of course I can go back in and individually lock the walls to the grids, but that's tedious.   Seems like a pretty standard need - locking walls to grids.

I remember (incorrectly?) that I have prevously removed the "chain" check mark and locked the wall as I drew which allowed to lock the walls as they are drawn.  I feel like there is some setting I don't see.

the only solution i can think of is aligning all walls to eachother that are located on grid line and locking them then if you do move the grid you just have to pick one wall and move it with it and all the walls will move also.
