this error mesage popped up today when attempting to duplicate a door type,a nd i havent been able to figure it out of

find much info on it. Im using R2017, and I just updated it yesterday - SP2 i believe. This is only occurring in this file

thus far. The file uses a custom template. While i cant duplicate a door type, I am able to create a new type.

the doors are all custom created, and have had no issues in the past. Ive tried reloading them, and ive even tried

deleting the two formulas I had in the door famillies and then reloading them - no dice. the formulas are pretty simple -

calculating clear width and the number of persons. Any thoughts on what might be causing this? TIA

Check out PIJPIWO's post on the "Suddenly Can't Insert Window In Project..." thread started earlier today. I think it's applicable towards resolving your issue.

I took a look at the thread, and that prompted me to go in and look for a constraining issue, as some of the door families

have constraints for door swings, but not all of them do.

Also, this problem is a bit different - I have no trouble placing new instances of any of the doors - I can move them, flip

them, change parameter values, etc. - all working like they should. I just cant duplicate an existing door type - I can,

however, create new types in the project.

I read elsewhere of a smiliar thing happening when someone updated revit, and the problem appeared to be an

issue with a custom project template, so I was wondering if that might be the culprit.
