Solved but why does this happen??? XFiles anomaly Ghost in the machine? I had this asked this morning and I simply copied a wall section from my model to theirs. No sweat

Colleague Question

When I try to cut a section, I am presented with the choice of a Building Section or a Detail Section. The Wall Section is not available. My wall sections are now labelled as building sections and wall sections are not in the properties palette. I tried transfer project standards from our template

How do I get access to the wall sections?

Transfer project standards does not bring in sections.

FYI I asked Autodesk for confirmation here you are.

  • The following items do not transfer between projects:

    • Elevation view types

    • Section view types

    • Visibility settings for Revit links

All you have to do to get wall sections back in your project is click on a building section, then click edit type, then duplicate and rename to wall sections. It seems as though at some point the system family for wall sections was removed so you just have to make a new type for the section system family.

Cheers marmiketin1

I did just that. And I aslo copied in one of my wall sections in to theier project as well. People need to be more cautious when purging. Not a big deal however it is curious witin Transfer PRoject standards the option for sections and elevations is there.
