I’m working with Generic Model families that host several shared, nested components (GM families) each. There got a lot of identical shared parameters in each family and I’m trying to group all these parameters alike – group them under the same heading (e.g. 'Constraints' 'Construction' 'Dimensions') in each family. The problem is that they won’t hold their regrouping. For instance, I change a parameter “group under” category from “Data” to “Dimensions”; save, exit and close, and the next time I open the family, the parameter to back under “Data”. I’ve tried and tried; they won’t hold the changes.

Any help here would be fantastic. Thanking you in advance.

Are you just changing the parameter type in the host family? You need to do this in each nested family to have it change correctly.

That’s exactly what I’m doing – changing the parameter grouping in ALL the families nested into the host – as well as within the Host family. I’ve even tried to rebuild one Host from scratch, which seemed to work at first, but then I opened that family yesterday and found its parameters’ grouping wrong again – AND wrong in the nested families. None of the changes are sticking.
