Why does revit not allow one to pause a rendering? It would be so helpful specially if you have a large scene. Or is the feature already there and I am missing it?

No setting that I have ever heard of and why would you want it?
This may be a process issue. I suggest that you always do a small window render at the settings you want to proof those settings before you dedicate the time to do a full render.

Incase I need to do a small check on something.. lets say in the plan. I have not used other rendering softwares ever and so do not know if no software allows this. But I think this can be helpful.
