Using Revit 2015. Have a conundrum. We have an existing basement ceiling modelled by the structural engineer that has large number of ceiling beams of varying sizes through out. We have to cover these beams and ceiling with an insulation layer. Mechanical engineers need to see this so they can see exactly where to bring their services too. This will probably be quite a time consuming process creating walls types and ceiling types to go around the beams/ceiling and I was hoping if there was a quicker way anyones come across to tackle this. Someway to potentially wrap around a linked object like you can do in some 3d modelling programs.

Any tips or work-arounds would be appreciated :-)

No automatic way that I know of.

You can use walls and ceilings which is what we do for ceiling bulkheads.  If the beams are only linear, not crossing each other, you could make a parametric family that you could pull the length of the beam.
