We have a 230mb 2015 Revit model which suddenly and for all users, takes about 4 minutes to open VG. We've tried saving a new central, compacting, auditing, purging, and unlinking all files to no avail. We do still have 150 warnings which need to be cleaned up. Our other thought is to delete families in chunks to see if one of them could be the culprit. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any suggestions we might try?

Thanks,

Branden

Since this was 'suddenly', it suggests it is something added to the file.  Are you on subscription?   If so, then send to Autodesk and you should see something today.

If not, how well is your file broken up with worksets?  We place each linked file in a workset, the shell in a workset and interiors in a workset.  That allows us to unload not needed worksets for better operations.  If you have done similar, unloaded worksets may help you pinpoint your problem.

If you have older backups, you might open those detached to see if you can get a handle on when something was introduced in the file.   You could also copy central and backup folder to a new folder where you can do rollbacks without affecting your current file.
