I am using Revit 2015 and am having trouble exporting to DWG. It gets to 54% and then reverts to the Revit screen. Then when I try to zoom in or out it freezes and a box pops up that says a fatal error has occured and then asks me if I want to save a recovery file. It creates the DWG file but there is nothing in it. I have searched numerous threads and cannot find anything similar to my problems. I've tried exporting about 10 times and the same thing happens everytime. I've also tried exporting to DXF but the same thing happens. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

We don't have enough information to give much of an answer.  One possibility is computer memory.  Revit builds temp files during this action and if you have not cleaned your system recently, that could be your problem.  CCleaner is free and will clean your temp file area as well as cookies and other junk.   Be aware that you may lose memorized passwords depending on what you clean.

How large is your model? Do you have a large number of inserted DWGs or linked files in the model? I would suggest auditing it to find if there are any issues with your model and purging unused elements and views to reduce file size.

The above reply regarding your computer's memory could be the issue as well.

The only other explanation I could think of is that the Revit program file (.dll) that manages exporting to DWG is corrupt (but I can't imagine how that would happen).

You don't say if you cleaned your system.....

I'm not sure if the free version available on this site still does what our copy does but I suggest you try it.
