I am still in the development phase of our project template, but as of now it includes view templates (set to automatically apply to newly created views), 1st and 2nd floor views in both New and Existing phase, cartooned sheets with these views on them, and a couple of preformatted schedules. I am willing to share, along with the shared parameters file (this is necessary). What version of Revit are you using?

Shoot. I am using 2016, you wouldn't be able to access the file... However there are two revit Add-Ins that would definitely speed up the process of creating a project template. They have some free utilities within them and then the rest must be purchased but are available for trial (use the trial features ASAP as they are most useful for developing the view template)

CTC Project Suite: https://apps.autodesk.com/RVT/en/Detail/Index?id=5735354759086980010&appLang=en&os=Win32_64

^ this has utilities such as view and sheet creators which will really speed up the process of developing the template

CTC BIM Manager Suite: https://apps.autodesk.com/RVT/en/Detail/Index?id=7318700961041173172&appLang=en&os=Win32_64

^ this allows you to manage shared parameters, batch load your firms standard families, etc.

I also recommend getting the Autodesk Extension Model Review as it allows you to set up a "directory" of your firm's standards (ex. naming conventions, text types, etc.) to check that your projects are adhering to your standards... While a project template is incredibly useful for ensuring that standards are followed, there always ID10T errors. It can be found here: http://www.biminteroperabilitytools.com/modelchecker/index.html

Additionally I recommend reading/downloading the following: http://whatrevitwants.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/intelligent-issue-tracking-in-revit.html < I set this up on my project start up sheet (which also includes fields to fill in such as Project #, Name, Status, etc)

No problem! It is definitely a daunting task but well worth the effort in creating... I have probably spent more time researching the best methods of creating than I have spent working on mine haha. Here are two helpful sites:

Feel free to ask me any other questions along the way, or share any helpful info with me that you find while creating yours!
