I was wondering if there is a means to import a DWG or file in revit without it showing in all views and without appyling filters? Sometimes it can be a bit annoying when adding a file and having to go through all non templated views to make sure that it is not showing.

Yes there is a checkbox when you import to Show in all views, just uncheck it.

Understand that this process in essance flattens the CAD drawing. A 3D CAD like a topography plan will only show up in the plan view it was placed in. Sometimes it is better to place these in a workset that is normally off in all views and typically - always better off to link instead of import.
