I just installed Revit 2017 from 2015, so I loaded a previous project to see the new rendering capabilities and none of the trees or people render, In fact most of them just show as blocks or cubes. I even loaded a new project and new families straight from the 2017 templates folders and I still get the same results.

Update*

I installed Revit on a fresh computer and everything is working fine, I believe it has to do with running previous versions of Revit on the computer, yes I installed 2017 before removing 2015 I've attached files to help clarify things

We have not yet installed 2017 - we typically only install a test version on one machine then wait until after the first update to assure that most bugs are resolved.

That being said, Revit has typically never been affected by older versions.  Our license allows for us to use 4 different versions so we always have 4 versions installed on all machines.  You typically never want to assume that your consultants will be on the latest version  of revit and we typically never upgrade a project after CD's have started.

Uninstalling previous versions may have been your problem because some of the pointers may have been lost.
