When I load a created family into my project I am unable to select individual lines to hide for line work. Instead it selects the entire family element. In Other families I am able to select individual lines to create insivisible linework. How can I edit the family or the symbolic lines within that family to include selectablility of each line within it?

Create a parameter in the family editor and give it an on/off criteria. Then select the line in the family that you want to turn on and off and in visibility link the on/off parameter. Do this for any others you need to control.
