What are your thoughts on Live Vs Dead detailing? I perfer to use both, but I get my curse chewed for doing Live detailing. I only use Dead details for standard details that are used from job-to-job. I'd like to hear from fellow Revit users what they prefer and what they do and what is most logical

I completely agree with you. Model views using model elements is much faster and more likely to be correct. However, you can't be lazy. You have to follow up with any model change that may affect model sections and details.
We need to get Autodesk to let us change cut profile linework!
