I'm in REVIT 2015.
I have a particular storefront window that I can't seem to delete. If I try to delete it, I get the typical window prompt that says "Can't edit the element until 'Name' resaves the element to central and relinquishes it and you reload the latest.
Except I'm in the local file and have been the only one working on this project for weeks. I've tried relinquishing, syncing, and reloading but the storefront is still there.
I figure that it's stuck in some sort of limbo loop, or that local file was opened elsewhere. In case I can't figure out how to remove it, should I just backtrack and dump the local file and then make a new one? Worst case scenario... I just make a new Central File.
I'm wondering if there's a way to figure out which desktop elsewhere opened my local file. As far as I know, the particular local file could have only been opened at my desktop.

Make a backup copy of your central and copy all of your local files to a different backup location (if you want to). Then delete all revit related files in your local folder directory and use detach and audit to open up your central file. Save as, as a new central file. purge 3 times and save again. close it down. The open up the central file and create a new local file. Hopefully it will work now and you can delete it.
Make sure you tell anyone on your team to delete all of their local copies too as they will no longer be able to save back to the central file after the detach.

I just tried creating a new Central File by detaching a new local file and calling it a new Central File, but when I try to delete the storefront element, the same message shows up. Shouldn't this new Central File be completely independent of the previous local files?
