Hey!

I was wondering if there is a preferred raw file format for point clouds when bringing them into revit 2016?  I have recieved about 12 (450MB) .LAS files from our surveyor that I am indexing in revit 2016, but when I bring into revit the points are spread far apart to really be useable.  I can see the piont cloud but it seems only like a "ghost" of the point cloud and the points are too far apart.  I was hoping that someone with more experience with point clouds could lead me in the right direction.  My surveyor said he can save the point cloud file to any raw file format I want.

Thanks!

Yep that about looks like a point cloud. I hate them to be honest. People think they are the new sliced bread but they only make our life harder. Everything thinks that by paying for a point cloud then its just a matter of importing the point cloud and then the job is done. But the reality is that some knucklehead has to import the point cloud and then go around and redraw the entire thing using Revit 3D parts. Its bloody pointless.
