Honestly, I don't get very deep into this topic, but now that I'm in it there are some annoying idiosyncrasies I'm now discovering. I've come across several topics about this but haven't found much on this: Column Grids, Scope Boxes, and Annotation Crop. My question is why does it seem that the grids, when being cropped to a scope box appear to also be cropped by annotation crop? But when annotation crop is affected grid is not? Can anyone offer clarification on this silly little question?

That looks like a crop region not a scope box ?? And it does appear to be doing what it's supposed to.

The grids and levels also have both 2d and 3D extents which will impact the results.

That's not my question. The scope box assists in automatically cropping the grids - establishing the 2D extents. The annotation crop appears to only coincidentally matches the resulting extent of those grids when enabled, but does not affect those grids if modified. That's my issue because having this ability would enable consitent composition of grids across multiple drawings without necessarily affecting the extent of the scope box. Or, if there is a way to affect the default behavior of the grids once cropped by the scope box. Are you following me? Do have any tricks to manage this?
