Fear experts;

please help me to figure out what is wrong.

Goal: to resize (scale) inserted CAD in an Section/Elevation view

I have two scenarios:

A: .dwg 1 is perfectly scalable in one project but in another project it, when placed in sections and elevations,

makes "Scale" button gray (not available).

B. the second .dwg, when inserted in sections/ elevations of both projects, when selected, makes "Scale" button grayed out.

In Revit project No.2 NONE of the inserted CAD drawings allow to scale them, even though they were OK in different Revit projects.

I will appreciate any suggestions.

(everything is unpinned, prior to inserting i purged anfd flattened .dwgs. Revit 2014)

Thank you.

Why do you need to scale them?

Just because they were drawn in CAD (in model space) not in 1 to 1, but bigger.

Cad is not an image and is not scalable.  When importing, you can set the units.  You can also open the CAD and scale it there.

I'm sorry, I was incorrect.  Just unpin and scale it.

I must be getting stupid...

ll the AutoCad drawingd, inserted in Revit, are unpinned. I think it might depend on the Section View properties. In that Revit file, in all section/elevation views none of the inserted .dwgs are unscalable.

And one drawing in unscalable in another Revit file, where the first .dwg is perfectly scalable.

 Thank you.

Was the dwg inserted "this view only"  or not?

This view only is 2d.

No, i rarely use "This View Only".

The AutoCAD drawing is flattened, purged, looks normal.

I think, in one case there is something with a view properties in Revit.

But in te other case, when one .dwg is scalable, but the other -- not - is a CAD file problem.

What do you think?

You say the ACAD drawing is “Flattened”? Hmm…I do remember having similar issue couple of years ago. Sorry, I cannot remember exactly how I resolved, but I do remember it wasn’t resolved through Revit. I had to go back to ACAD drawing to fix; that the issue was related to the FLATTEN command. I believe I resolved by using OVERKILL and then CHANGE to zero out elevations.

Thanks. Never heard about OVERKILL command. I'll try it. I hope it would help. (I thought, that FLATTEN equalizes all the zero values)

But this won't solve the problem with the second >CAD file, which is OK for scalind in the first Revit project, but does not work in the second one.

(unpinned, placed in Sections and elevations).
