Hi Guys

I am hoping that someone may be able to help, i have been trying to from a roof for my model now for hours without success. What it is, i am trying to cut a roof round a partial dormer where the gable is built directly off the main structural wall but has the roof cutout along the front off the dormer to show the windows. is this possible?

I have attached a picture to show what i mean. Oh meant to say  i am using Revit Architectural 2016.

Thanks in advance.

Lee

Model your dormer roof separate from the lower roof. It has a different plate height. Create the lower roof as if there were no dormer at all. In other words, do not cut an opening for the dormer walls. Revit has a tool to do that. Dormer. After you model the main roof, model the dormer roof on the top plate level of its 3 walls. The attach the dormer rood to the main roof, by first selecting the main and then the dormer. Roofs now intersect. Now uses the Dormer Tool to cut your opening.
