So in 8 years I've never had to start my own thread, always found it in search function... but here we go.

Autodesk Building Design Suite Premium 2016

16.0.1108.020160126_1600(x64)Update2 for R2

Usually this happens using the move command and I always use the move command via a keyboard shortcut:

I select at item (usually a wall) I initiate the move command, and halfway through the move, Revit decides to update and/or install something.

It takes a very long time. Then after the install everything seems to work just fine, except Revit seems to have reset itself and things like my custom keyboard shortcuts don't work anymore.

This has happened 4 or 5 times over the last couple of months of daily use.

Any ideas as to what is happening?

We had a similar problem and we uninstalled REX which seems to fix the problem.   This was posted by Robert Bell on Autodesk site.
