So, I have been using Revit for a few years and haven't encountered this issue before. When setting up a beam system, the location of the beams does not match. See attached picture. The difference is about 9' feet. In the blue area is the beam system dashed line, and in the red are the associated beams. There is floor 2 and floor 3 visible here.

The beam system is supposed to be aligned with floor three, but when I line up the beam system with the floor 3 plane, the beams rise to more than 9 feet above the floor. I moved the beam system down the correct amount to get them lined up, but if I try and copy the system up to other floors, the beam system with snap back to where it should be located on the beams.

But then, once it gets close to floor 4 (not visible), it separates again, and the beams jump up 9 feet from the beam system. At the top floor, it gets even weirder. I can move the beam system, but the beams won't move above the top of the wall. Is there a setting I have clicked on by mistake that is causing this? If you ask, I can provide more pictures.

Here is another image, showing the properties menu. Thr work place is level three, and there is no elevation offset. The dashed line indicating beam system is lined up with level 3, but the beams themselves are nearly all the way up to level 4.

Solved it, nevermind. The beam system had somehow gotten the "defines slope" option selected on some of the lines, and that was causing issues.
