I am working on a renovation to an existing building and am having problems with the brick surface pattern hatch in elevation.
1. In the elevation which shows the existing building (phase set to Existing + Demo) - the brick pattern for the existing is the same pen weight as that for demo. Is there any way to change this? I tried going under Settings/Phases/Graphic Overrides/Material/Surface Pattern/Colour, but this didn't do anything. When I view the elevation from a certain distance on the screen it shows as a different grey shade but when I zoom in or print it, it is all the same shade.
2. Same problem for elevation which shows Existing plus new. I would like the existing to show as a lighter hatch than the new.
Thanks for any responses!

We setup two walls with two different materials. Then just set the existing pattern grey and the new pattern black.

Thanks - that will work for existing and new but what would you do to distinguish between the hatch of existing and demo?
