Hello,

I've been using AutoCad on and off in 2D since 2005 but am now trying Revit, having ploughed through E Wing's very informative guide book.

I'm quite well into my first solo project  but have the following query;

I have constrained some internal walls up to a certain level  but they are showing up above it in the model.

I have checked edit profile for these walls and they appear set to the correct height.

Why is this and how can I rectify it?

With Thanks.

The walls will show because the top of the wall is at your level.   You have a couple of choices.

  1. Change the offset for the tops of these walls to something below the finish floor - preferably the floor thickness  << DFoes not update with floor thickness changes.
  2. Edit the floor structure then when given the change, answer yes to "do you want walls coming up to this level to attach to the bottom of this floor."  << The best solution.   Walls will show correctly in sections.
  3. You can edit walls individually and tell them to attach their tops to the floor above....< Kind of tedious.

Thanks for solving the problem.

Another reason this can happen is that you have the level below as an underlay. This can be changed in the properties of your plan view just below the visibility edit buttons. Underlays are helpful when doing multi floor designs in which you want things like corridors or washrooms to be in the same places.

In this case the Underlay was set to 'None' and top offset levels were similar to other walls not showing through.

The neat tip from above sorted the issue in no time at all however.

Thanks Again.
