I'm trying to create a 2d component through the plumbing fixture.rft template. Does anyone know how to change lines to dashed? Thanks...

Goto Settings... Object Styles... New
Change the Line Pattern for the new object style.

yes i agree that u've to create a line style, but be careful that if it's dashed in ur family and not in the rvt file then the reason could be:
-give unique name for the new dashed line style that u created
-give the family plan view similar scale as the plan u r targeting,
thanks
