Hello everybody.

I'd want to expose my problem. Why does the border line between the tiles and the final finish of the other wall (as shown in the pic) not appear?

(I'm using REvit 2014 version)

Thank you

I see a line across that wall which implies that this wall was split vertically into two walls.  The tile spacing in the lower area bears that out as well.  I believe that portion of wall does not have tile full height.

However, that does not explain why there is no 'edge' line.  This area should be different materials and the line should be there unless you used the 'invisible line' tool.   Did you?

Hello WWHub, thanks for the answer.

About your questions, yes, originally the walls were a single wall and then I split it into 2 ones. On the first I used a Tiles material for the entire surface and on the second one I used: [From flooring to 42" the Tiles Material] and [from 42" to the Ceiling a Gypsum material].

I have not used 'invisible line' tool that you have mentioned.

For now I've solved this problem by setting the second wall with the "structural" function and and leaving the other wall with the "non-structural" function (instance parameter).

The image shows the right graphic result but I think that it's not the correct way to solve this problem

Normal revit is that if the two walls have the same material at the junction and the faces are flush and if the two walls are joined ( you typically have pick join) and if the layer of the wall has the same layer value, then there will be no line.  Otherwise there will be a line.   In any view, you can use the view specific linework tool to alter or remove the line.

Something else must be going on here that you have not nold us but since you have a solution you can deal with then OK.   If you want us to look at this, you can save and post here a very small project that just contains these walls and has been purged (3 times is best).

No file... It needs to be small enough.   If you purge all 3 times then save, it will be small enough.

There is no reason for that large of a file if it is only those walls and purged.

OK - I looked at this and you may have found a bug.  It appears that Revit uses the one finish definition only to establish this join and that must be your tile.

I really believe your process is wrong.   Model as you would build it - you can't put tile on nothing.  You would have the 1/2" gyp full height and the tile as another layer.  Yes - the wall is thicker!  You could do the wainscot section as a stacked wall.

We typically do all of our walls like this as just the base wall then where we have tile, we use a thin wall placed againset the base wall.
