I'm using Revit 2015. I modeled 12K5 joists in my project. I would like to change the line weight of the joist from the default line weight. When I go to OBJECT STYLES and click on the plus sign next to STRUCTURAL FRAMING I go to the JOIST column and increase the line weight in the PROJECTION column. I hit APPLY and close the window but nothing happens. The joist weight doesn't change to the new line weight I entered in the PROJECTION column. I checked the joist and the STRUCURAL USAGE in it's proerties window is set to JOIST. I also checked the VIEW RANGE of my plan to insure that my CUT PLANE is set above the joist. Only when I go to STRUCTURAL FRAMING in VISIBILITY GRAPHICS and change the projection value does the line weight of the joist change. I don't want all of the structural framing in my plan to change to this line weight only the joists. What I'm I missing???

Sorry but I think this is one of those items that Revit has allowed for and not yet defined.

The structural joists are modeled under the structural framing category in the family editor and there is no Structural Joist category available.

You were close to the solution.  "Joist" in Revit doesn't necessarily pertain to Bar Joist.  Joist in Revit refers to a secondary member (non Girder) such as members within a beam system which can be beams or bar joists.  In Object Styles>Structural Framing scroll down to Web Joist and make your changes there.  You may want to undo any changes that you made to "Joist".
