I am using Revit Architecture 2011 because I'm a broke architect and trying to teach myself revit using forums, YouTube, Google, etc. In putting together a project I can't seem to find any function allowing me to put beams and roof joists in. But in some examples on youtube I see people doing it using specific tools under the "structure" tab. Now these folks are using Revit Architecture 2013, so this may be possible with that version.
My question is does the Revit Architecture 2013 now incorporate additional structural tools where it was non-existent in 2011? Does 2011 rely more on Revit Structure and the structural designer to provide such joist and beam information?
I hope my question makes sense.

The earlier versions of Revit did not have all of he structural and MEP functions built into it. I cannot remember exactly what release they switched to an all inclusive program but I'm assuming that since you don't have it 2011 was not updated yet.
