So all my kitchen cabinets in the list of components show their backside in the list. How does one fix this? heres a pic.

Make a duplicate of that family and rotate the family to see the result in the preview. Maybe there is a system behind that...

Revit has always done this from the very beginning. The 3D family view is taken from the back. STUPID on Revit's part and nothing you can do for this view unless you build your family backwards.
