I have a brick column family. In the family, brick course looks good but it's not after I load it in to project. I can align the course line in the model or it will cause column height change.

Is there any way to fix this? Thank you!

it seems that the material/finish is set in the family itself. if you make the material a parameter that can then be changed in the project it is loaded into, you should then be able to aline the hatch pattern without problems

If you assign the brick material in the family, it will assume the assigned model pattern in the project and you can adjust that.  If you have tried to do something else, then you need to tell us.

My attached family is a good method (You will need to build what you need).  It has a type based material assigned.  Insert and assign that to brick that has a defined model pattern and it will adjust.

My bad.

Also my bad that I didn't say I am using 2014, but I got what you guys are saying. I deleted the old type based materials in the family and recreated new, but it still doesn't work in the model. I don't know why but thanks for your time.

Process works with type or instance based materials.  I assigned a material variable to the extrusions - did you?
