Hey guys,

I have a .pat file problem. I want 6'x18" panels to be staggered 2' from one to another. Currently I have the panel size correct, but the panel's are centered to eachother line to line (staggered 3', not 2'). Please Help!

*6'x18" Staggered Panel,

;%TYPE=MODEL,

0 , 0 , 0 , 0 , 18

90 , 0 , 0 , 18 , 36 , 18 , -18

Thanks!

Kyle

Yes! That is it. Of course I figured it out right before you replied, but thank you. I'm slowly understanding these .pat's.

It can be a little bit tricky at the beginning when learning.

Some tips to know are that there is a limit on how large of numbers you can use. I think it is around 1000 so you want to make sure any patterns you create, the lines repeat at a distance less than that.

Also the shift x,y plane rotates with the angle but the origin plane does not.

Here is one of the more tricky patterns I just made recently. I drew it in autocad first so I could measure my distances and figure out offsets and penup/pendown lengths.

There is no meaningful upper limit on pattern size when loading a pattern using the HatchKit Add-In for Revit in conjunction with HatchKit - the upper limit exists only within Revit's Fill Patterns manager.

Wow... that is a complicated pattern! Nicely done.

Thanks for the help guys. I've played with a few different patterns now and I understand it all much better. I will grab that plug-in but I really wanted to really understand how it works first.

Thanks again!
