Hi there,

I am modelling my own domestic residence for a university project and seem to have hit somewhat of a roadblock. I am trying to cut into the floor of my second level in order to make way for the entrance to the staircase. As you can see in the second picture I have done this successfully for the floor above.

The problem is when I try to select the floor there is some sort of error, it does not show one but the floor does not become transparent It becomes slightly blue but still brings up the correct options for editing the floor. I can therefore not see the correct size of the cut needed because the stairs below are hidden behind the floor.

I have tried disregarding this and making the cut anyway but, as you can see in the third picture it simply comes up as a thin black line and no cut is made.

Both floor types are exactly the same and I have tried deleting and replacing the floor but the same thing happens.

Anyone have any idea as to the source of this problem and how to fix it?

It looks like you have two floors in the same place. Delete one.
